Embark on a culinary journey with our "Liberation Bites," a special appetizer crafted in honor of International Day for the Abolition of Slavery. This dish is a symphony of flavors symbolizing unity, freedom, and the resilience of those who fought for emancipation.

 
Ingredients
    For the Liberation Bites:
  • 1 cup chickpea flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup red bell pepper (finely chopped)
  • 1/4 cup green bell pepper (finely chopped)
  • 1/4 cup red onion (finely chopped)
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • cooking oil (for frying)
  • salt (to taste)
  • pepper (to taste)
  • For the Yogurt Dipping Sauce:
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons mint (finely chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • salt (to taste)
Instructions
  1. Step 1: Prepare the Liberation Bites Batter

    1- In a bowl, combine chickpea flour, water, red bell pepper, green bell pepper, red onion, cilantro, cumin, turmeric, salt, and pepper.

    2- Mix until you achieve a smooth batter.

     
  2. Step 2: Fry the Liberation Bites

    1- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.

    2- Spoon small portions of the batter into the hot oil, frying until golden brown.

    3- Remove the bites from the oil and place them on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.

     
  3. Step 3: Make the Yogurt Dipping Sauce

    1- In a separate bowl, mix Greek yogurt, chopped mint, lemon juice, and salt.

    2- Stir until the ingredients are well combined.

     
  4. Serve and Enjoy the Liberation Bites

    1- Arrange the "Liberation Bites" on a serving platter.

    2- Serve with the refreshing yogurt dipping sauce on the side.
