Ingredients
  • 4 bell peppers (large)
  • 1 pound ground beef or lamb
  • 1 onion (finely chopped)
  • garlic (2 cloves, minced)
  • white bread (2 slices, soaked in milk)
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1/4 cup chutney
  • 2 tablespoons curry powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • parsley or cilantro (for garnish)
  • salt (to taste)
  • pepper (to taste)
Instructions
  1. Preheat the Oven:

    Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

     
  2. Prepare the Peppers:

    1- Cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds and membranes.

    2- Blanch the peppers in boiling water for 5 minutes, then drain.

     
  3. Make the Bobotie Mixture:

    1- In a pan, sauté the chopped onion and garlic until golden.

    2- Add the ground beef or lamb and cook until browned.

    3- Squeeze excess milk from the soaked bread and add it to the meat mixture.

    4- Stir in raisins, chutney, curry powder, cumin, coriander, turmeric, salt, and pepper. Cook until well combined.

     
  4. Stuff the Peppers:
